SCS Overview
SCS is a patented mechanical brushing technology that enhances the value of hot rolled strip, making it a better material for fabricators and OEMs. This environmentally-friendly process gives hot rolled black sheets or coils a clean, rust-resistant ‘cold rolled’ surface ready for fabrication or painting. SCS-processed steel can provide manufacturers advantages in cost, quality and environmental impact for making products as diverse as saw blades, welded tubes and rail cars.

Several of the tests were conducted using conventional hot band, HRPO or CRS side-by-side with the SCS. This affords direct comparison of SCS with the most commonly used flat rolled steels.
