Surface Quality
Dirt, defects, oil and rust –

SCS gives you a smooth, clean surface that’s similar to cold rolled. It's the kind of surface needed for glossy paint coatings and defect-free welds, plus it offers these other valuable advantages:

Please note that SCS will often show the 'stains' and blue edge typical of hot rolled black. These are the natural surface colorations, not defects, and do not effect paint adherence or appearance at all.

This short "Before - After" video follows the SCS Process performed on a sheet of ordinary hot band. The "Before" napkin wipe across the sheet shows the loose mill scale and grit typical of hot band. The "After" napkin wipe demonstrates just how clean the SCS Process leaves this same sheet.
